In Exodus 12 we read about the first Passover. This was the tenth and final plague known as the death of the firstborn.
The Lord had Moses instruct the people to take the blood of a lamb without blemish and put it on the two side posts of the door and above the door. When the Lord saw the blood on the doorposts, those who were inside the home were passed over and protected from the death of the firstborn plague (see Exodus 12:13).
After the Israelites were freed, they continued to celebrate the Passover to commemorate what the Lord did for them. This feast prophetically pointed to the Jesus, the Lamb who was slain (see Revelation 5:12).
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we are under a new covenant because the blood is permanent. We no longer need to sacrifice animals and literally apply the blood. Jesus did that for us!
“By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:10 NKJV).
We can apply the blood of Jesus to our doorposts. That means that whatever situation we face, we can apply the blood of Jesus to it.
When we apply the blood of Jesus by faith, it cleanses us from sin and protects from the evil one.
To apply the blood of Jesus by faith, all we have to do is say, “I plead the blood of Jesus!”
We can start this moment applying the blood of Jesus over our lives and all that belongs to us—our spouses, our children, our health, our finances, our emotions, our cars, our jobs, and so forth.
When we apply the blood of Jesus to the doorposts of our lives, we have victory!
Pray this prayer to apply the blood of Jesus to your life by faith:
Lord, I come to you in Jesus name, and I apply the blood of Jesus to my life and all that has been entrusted to me. I plead the blood of Jesus over my marriage, my children, my work, my finances, my body, my mind, my will, my emotions, my friends, my coworkers, my vehicles, my house, my pets, and the prison unit where my loved one is incarcerated. Thank You for protecting me with the blood of Jesus, Amen.
