“Sanctify them through Thy Truth: Thy Word is Truth.
18 As Thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the Truth.” (John 17:17-19)
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6)
We throw the words, true and truth around so much, most thoughts about the meaning is lost in our efforts to gain something of the moment. The truth is, there can only be one truth, and that truth is the Person, the LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and Creator of all. The Maker of His universe, including mankind, is Himself the standard of all Truth.
The enemy of God, and all things God, Satan himself, is a master, though not perfect, imitator of truth, and his imitation is at best a great deception. Every faith, belief, creed, religious conviction, not based on the absolute, unchanged Word of the Holy God, the Bible, is no more than a deception of the evil one, the devil, Satan. Everyone outside of the Biblical Christianity, even those who choose to avoid all types of religions, has been deceived, blinded by the enemy of this world. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
Satan often comes under the guise of a messenger of God. It saddens me to say this, but not all pastors of churches are God-called to be pastors. Often, the deceiver, Satan, through imitation, extends a call of one he controls, though perhaps subtly, so that he may bring falsehood and confusion of identity to a church. Because of this, we must discern what is Truth and what is counterfeit. He may appear as an angel of light. “Watch and pray!”
