Morning Inspiration! For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
2nd Corinthians 4:6–7
Imagine carrying around the world’s most expensive diamond, inside a worn out paper bag! That’s the point Paul makes about God storing the light of Jesus inside our fragile hearts. In spite of being weak physically & spiritually, our Lord not only entrusts us with His amazing treasure; He encourages us to multiply it’s value, by sharing it with others. Our weakness is covered by God’s greatness, reminding us that any bright light (or goodness) that comes from us, is only possible through Jesus being our Lord & Savior.
