LOCAL COMPANY OFFERS FREE SERVICE TO CANCER PATIENTS
June 11, 2019–A local maid service named Green Sweep wants to clean your home for free if you are battling any form of cancer. Company owner and president Molly Moran says she’s making the offer because it’s the right thing to do. It’s part of a nationwide, non-profit effort called “Cleaning for a Reason” which was founded by Moran’s mentor, Debbie Sardone, in Lewisville, Texas, in 2006. Since its inception, the non-profit has helped over 29,000 women battling cancer with free house cleaning services valued at over $10 million. Locally, Moran, who joined the cause about a year ago, has provided 18 free, local cleanings and wants to do more.
“We will help any person with cancer,” Moran says. “Cleaning for a Reason started by helping just women but has recently spread its mission to include anyone who needs help. I personally want my business to be involved and help individuals undergoing treatment for cancer because I know how hard it is to do some of the most basic tasks when you’re not feeling well. It’s one thing that we can do to not only improve an individual’s life while going through a terrible time, we can also clean their space using non-toxic cleaning products and methods, which is so so important especially for people with compromised immune systems.”
