Thought Of The Day, “Bloom”, Men’s Daily Devotion

Thought of the day:

Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called. Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it. For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ’s slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called. Reference 1 Corinthians 7:20-24 NKJV

Very simply what Paul was talking about here is to bloom where you’re planted. I know that sounds cliches but here’s the thing, if we don’t look around us and see how God is using us where we are at, we’ll miss out on The Call He has for us in that situation or time in our walks.

I was reflecting on how many people look for positions in The Body of Christ. Many seek for a title so they can feel important or even allow pride to sink in. I know that when I was serving in a particular denomination, I got sucked in and actually, this idea was instilled in me when I was in Bible College. I’m not saying being in Bible College is wrong or that even having a title is wrong, I’m saying, we need to look and examine why we’re doing it. If it’s truly helping us to “Bloom”, then yes, that’s a good reason.

Sometimes in “Blooming”, we think we are not where we’re supposed to be. Sometimes, thoughts that God doesn’t like us or even hates us creep in. Sometimes, we think we’re useless. It could be because we think we’re supposed to be doing something different in our calling when in reality, God has us in a spot, that may seem difficult, to grow. We also need to be aware that maybe it’s a reminder for us to get into action. Maybe getting into action is doing stuff we may not like but, when we are serving Him, it’s not always going to be cake and roses.

Are you seeking to bloom or are you seeking to jockey for a position that may look you good or maybe, are you being complacent? Ask God to show you and move you where you need to be to truly bloom.

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.
It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it. We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already.
If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know. Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
