Think Goals - Not Resolutions
Think Goals

Thought of the day:

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Reference Philippians 3:12-14 NKJV

Paul addressed here a problem that is seen in many people, a pride of sorts. There are people who claim to no longer sin. Others claim they don’t deal with particular sins in their lives but, in reality, they still do. There are some that have a hard time identifying what they struggle with but others see it glaringly.

What Paul addressed here is that sin is going to be continuously a problem in this life for everyone.
What we need to do is not be so full of ourselves that we don’t see where we lack in righteousness. This is not to say that we beat ourselves up so to speak, but that we need to remember that we are going to struggle.

It almost seems as if God allows this to happen so that we learn to lean on each other. It would appear that this is a way He shows us where our weaknesses lie so that we can grow in Him.
We need to remember that no matter how long or short of a time we’ve walked with Jesus, we’re still susceptible to fall.

We should not only spend time in His Word daily, not just pray, not even just fellowship with other believers, these things should all be incorporated into our days. We need to learn and glean from each other to grow together. We all can learn from each other because we all find different nuggets in The Word.

Let’s strive for the upward call in Jesus together.

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.
It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it. We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already.
If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know. Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
