Winds over Arizona and New Mexico will remain southwesterly tonight. More smoke from the Woodbury Gap Fire may impact Albuquerque tonight into Saturday morning. Forecast models show this smoke may be concentrated enough to warrant a health alert.
As the low pressure system moves into Arizona Saturday, the winds over Arizona will be out of the west while the winds over New Mexico remain out of the southwest. The change in wind direction over Arizona will keep smoke from the Woodbury Gap wildfire away from Albuquerque Saturday night and Sunday morning.
By Sunday, the low pressure system and the associated cold front will be crossing New Mexico. Westerly winds will have spread into New Mexico and will keep Woodbury wildfire smoke away from Albuquerque Sunday night and Monday morning.
