ABQ Journal: Saving New Mexico’s Old Rural Churches is ‘Getting Harder and Harder’

I Love this story by the Albuquerque Journal! I get really sad when I see an old Church being neglected. To me it is just not right. When I travel rural New Mexico I get to see so many old Churches. I start to think about those who built it and raised the funds to build it, who was the first preacher? how many preachers, missionaries and town leaders were raised up in that Church? I love Church history.

Pictured above is the steeple at the First Baptist Church in Reserve where I serve. It still has its original stained glass windows.

The Church bell which is rung by pulling on a rope still works! The members of FBC in Reserve take very good care of the Church!
