New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has ordered state flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of Roswell firefighter Jeff Stroble who has died from injuries suffered in the line of duty. KOB TV REPORT

Roswell N.M. – A celebration of life to honor our beloved brother Jeff Stroble, 46, of the Roswell Fire Department will take place on Friday, July 26th at 2:00pm. The public is invited to attend the memorial service which will be held at the Roswell Convention Center (912 N. Main Street) from 2:00 pm-3:30 pm, a procession to honor our fallen hero will immediately follow where a graveside service burial will take place with firefighter ceremony and honors. A final call will take place along with a flag presentation to his family.
The procession route will begin exiting the Roswell Convention Center heading south on Richardson Ave. past Fire Station One (200 S. Richardson), then continue east on Alameda and south on Main Street to end at South Park Cemetery (3101 S. Main St.) With the amount of support shown previously from agencies across the state, we anticipate the procession to last one hour.
Law enforcement officers will lead to close off intersections along the route. Engine 6 will be the first fire truck followed by the hearse fire truck (Engine 10) carrying the casket and honor guard. Engine 6, the hearse fire truck and honor guard along with the family will come to a halt in front of Fire Station One. The procession will stay halted for 192 seconds to pay tribute to his helmet and Roswell Fire Department #192.
A private reception will be held at the Roswell Convention Center (912 N. Main) for family, friends and for the state and local agencies honoring Jeff Stroble following the graveside service. In order to respect the family’s privacy the reception will not be open to the public or media.
Any media wishing to attend the memorial service at the Roswell Convention Center or the graveside service at South Park Cemetery, please contact Public Affairs Director Juanita Jennings at jn.jennings@roswell-nm.gov to coordinate your presence. The public should be aware there will be delays in traffic Friday, July 26th along the procession route, please be respectful and mindful for our fallen hero and his family.
The Roswell Fire Department asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the account set up for Jeff Stroble at Pioneer Bank.
ABQ JOURNAL UPDATEA procession to honor our fallen hero Jeff Stroble will occur Monday afternoon July 22nd. His brothers of the Roswell Fire Department will escort his body. Roswell Police Department as well as other local and state agencies will also serve as escorts. Fire officials ask the community to show their support and respect for Jeff Stroble and his family by lining S. Main. The procession will leave from the Roswell Air Center (1 Jerry Circle) between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and end at Anderson-Bethany Funeral home (2609 S. Main).
