A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
John 20:26
Every felt like you were up against a wall? Stuck? Stalled? Smack-dab against an unyielding barrier? You can’t go back, sideways, over the top, or underneath, and there are no detours. What do you do? Walk through it. Whoever heard of anyone doing that? Well, Jesus did.
In the upper room after His resurrection, Jesus suddenly appeared in the midst of His frightened, discouraged disciples, who had been hiding behind locked doors. Jesus did the impossible, and He is constantly asking us to do the impossible. When we face a wall—whatever it may be—God wants to walk us through that wall. As we take that first step into impossibility, we will find Jesus there, in the most unlikely place in the most unbelievable circumstance. And then we will walk hand in hand with Him through that wall to the other side.
Mighty One, nothing is impossible with You. No situation is beyond Your help, Your counsel, Your strength. I choose to fix my eyes on You this day rather than on my obstacles. I don’t know how I will get through the impossibilities that face me, but holding Your hand, I know I can walk through anything.
