We are so blessed this Saturday morning to have a wonderful post from Sister Connie Keyohara! Thank you so very much Connie! God Bless you and yours!

He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will. Ephesians 1:5

When you’re Adopted it makes someone very caring, your legal guardian. Adoption is one of the metaphors used in the Bible to explain how Christians are taken into the family of God. That was God’s intention all along.

Scripture tells us that Jesus came that we might receive adoption to sonship. Galatians 4:5

You received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.  Romans 8:15

I have spoken to many people in my life who did not have a good relationship with their father and/or their father was not ever present in their life. This leaves them lacking the love of a father and the guidance and counseling of a father as well. There’s good news though, God intended on adopting us as his sons and daughters and giving us everything that is his.

God predestined us for adoption and sent his Son to redeem us. We will inherit everything God has, that’s what an adoption creates, stability. It’s something that is necessary to the Christian Faith.

Adoption not only secures our future but our past and our present as well. Being adopted by God is one of the most precious acts of love there is. We will be raised by God, learn his ways, have his character and get his blessings.

Adoption is a wonderful thing, because we know that you were chosen special, as a precious gift, and welcomed into a family where you are loved and taken care of.

When someone adopts a child, they are choosing to bring that child into their family. They are willing to give that child their family name, investing their life and time in that child, making that child an heir to all they may have. And that’s no easy decision, not everybody can do it. But those that do, are extremely blessed.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

A Father will provide for his family.

Defend his family against the adversary.

A Father will create peace within his family.

A Father will answer when a child in need calls.

A Father speaks life to his children.

There are many many more blessings that come from a Father.

If you’ve ever felt abandoned by your father, left destitute or just maybe felt ignored. Just remember your father in heaven has adopted you as his son. He wants you to come to him with your needs and your daily happenings.

For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in.

Psalm 27:10

One of God’s names in the Bible is  “A Father to the fatherless.”  What a joyful occasion to be adopted by God!

Psalm 68:6 tells us that He sets the lonely in families.

My prayer for you today is that you would allow God to intervene in your life and show you what a good father is capable of.

Many Blessings,

Connie Keyohara
