The Graveyard Gem…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I have had so much on my mind lately as I have had some unfinished business inside my heart, that God himself wanted to deal with. I had buried an issue that recently resurfaced in my life. Several times now, I had the thought to go to the cemetery where my parents are buried. Yesterday, I traveled the two hours north to their final resting place in Allagash, Maine. The first snow of the year covered the earth as I traveled the northern Maine woods. I prayed, I sang, I cried as I made my way to find out why I was being drawn to go on this particular day. I took along a small ceramic pumpkin to set on their stone in which the clip held a miniature copy of the front cover of my book Good Morning Beautiful People, Angel’s Prayer Of The Day.

The flowers from their plot have been removed in preparation for the winter snow. All that remained was the stone with their names etched on it, a sign that I placed for Mother’s Day that read hero and a solar light on my dad’s side. I released some things that were in my heart, thanked them for life and turned to leave. As I glanced down one last time, my eyes were drawn to a fuchsia gem. I picked it up and held it in my hand, breathless really, as it was the exact color of the coat I was wearing. I pondered that gem all the way home. It’s not a real gem, but has many dimensions to it, perfectly round the size of a quarter.

I shared the experience with my sister, some friends and pondered it in my heart for hours last night. Then I remembered some writings I penned. A Gem Called Mother and What’s In Your Bloodline. I have been talking to God about mantles and a bigger sword. I desire to do more in his kingdom and for his glory. I want everything he can trust me with, and I believe it’s a whole lot. What about you? Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for life. It is a precious gem. Thank you for the precious gift of children. You tell us to honor our parents, not because they were perfect people but because it’s an honorable thing to do.

Father, you said you would give us our hearts desire. My hearts desire is for every pregnancy care center around this globe to have an ultrasound machine and a home for women in crisis. Father, only you could make that happen.

Father, we join faith today for the gem of children. Those precious pumpkins, watch over them closely, we pray. You see everything, oh God. Nothing escapes your watchful eye. We pray a hedge of protection around them.

Father, for every woman that suffered the aftermath from the choice of an abortion, heal them we pray. You rebuild the devastated places. (Isaiah 61) Your love is enough to fill the human heart.

Father, we pray for bigger swords and new mantles. Father, give to each of us, according to your will. Amen

Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. You are a gem.
