I watched much of the presentation on Facebook yesterday by Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Police Chief Mike Geier and others on the new plan to fight violent crime. I am very thankful for the leadership of the Mayor and Chief. These two men exhibit great leadership skills. So many are dedicated to fighting crime here in Albuquerque! We are so very thankful for them!!!We need to be in intense prayer everyday for the men and women who protect us! We face a great challenge in Albuquerque, the Mayor was very frank about that. Violent crime is horrific in the city. What I encourage you to do is realize this is a heart issue. Hearts need to be changed for Jesus. The love of Jesus. His ways, not mans. The Church needs to carry out the Great Commission.
This awful crime scene will continue, even with this plan, well, maybe it will decrease a bit..maybe, which would be a blessing. We will pray it will! BUT, THE ONLY THING THAT WILL CHANGE ANYTHING IS WHEN PEOPLE GIVE THEIR LIFE TO JESUS! As my Pastor friend Jude Sisneros would say, “Come on Somebody!!!” I know, this sounds too many of you as an old preachers sounding off, but how is this going with man in charge and not God in charge? We here in Albuquerque, and all of America have really made a mess of things. Only 20.4 percent of America goes to Church anymore, From Dr. Jim Denison Research.
The Church has to carry out the Great Commission..more from Dr. Jim Denison:
A Pew Research Center study reports that only 48 percent of Americans now consider themselves to be both “religious and spiritual,” while 18 percent say they are “neither religious nor spiritual.” But 27 percent say they are “spiritual but not religious.” Their number has grown nearly 50 percent in recent years.
By comparison, Pew Research Center estimates America’s evangelical population to be 25.4 percent. The Baptist population is 15.4 percent. According to an authoritative study, only 20.4 percent of the US population attends church on any given week.
This means there are more “spiritual but not religious” Americans than Americans who attended church last Sunday.
ON POINT: The Truth About Spiritual Warfare
This is just not an Albuquerque problem…….it is an American problem.
Forever we have said here in America, God Bless America. Well, God has abundantly blessed us, we have kicked God to the curb. We need to say, America! Bless God!
I asked a question the other day and not many answered, because I assume they are sad to do so….here is my question for you: The World WWII Generation is called by many historians the greatest generation ever…what will we be remembered for?
It seems to me that America even argues about the color of the sky. Listen please, if we do not get our house in order and get along with each other, even when we disagree, we are sunk. This mess will even get worse.
Here is a report on the Mayor’s Plan: ABQ Journal Report
This awful problem goes very deep…….here in Albuquerque we continue to kill God’s babies through abortion……….God knows all.
What will we say to God?
Past Post:
When I first met Pastor Jim Montoya when he came into KKIM Radio in Albuquerque years ago to meet me, he really preached the importance of The Great Commission to me! Then when I became his Associate Pastor at the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas, New Mexico, it became my main focus and years later it still is here at FGGAM! God Bless you Pastor Jim for helping train me up!
The Great Commission is really the heart and soul of FGGAM. Sharing the light of Jesus to one person at a time. Sharing the love of Jesus to the world on our website, radio, podcasting, newspaper and being a circuit preacher! Hitting the road for Jesus!
Is evangelism a thing of the past for the American church? It makes one wonder when 51% of churchgoers are unfamiliar with the term “The Great Commission,” according to a new study from Barna. But according to Outreach Magazine’s “100 Fastest Growing Churches” report, evangelism is alive and well!
To be crystal clear: The Great Commission is in Matthew 28:18-20 where Jesus gave His last directions to His followers before ascending to heaven: More Here

What Makes a Church Powerful?
1 Corinthians 1:26-31; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5
What factors determine whether a church is powerful or weak? Oftentimes people make such evaluations based on appearances and human reasoning rather than on God’s Word.
For instance, large congregations with dynamic worship services and programs for every age and interest group look impressive. Or a church could be viewed as powerful because of its prominent location, a big budget, or the pastor with a magnetic personality. In contrast, small churches—especially those with few members, a rural setting, and little money—are often considered lesser.
The point is that we can’t judge a church’s strength or weakness based on outward factors like size, location, prosperity, or prominence. Paul’s letter to the Corinthians points out that a strong church is one that is founded on the message of the cross and grounded in God’s wisdom rather than the world’s.
God’s power is given to the church for His purposes, not for human agendas. And it isn’t a persuasive sermon but the gospel of Christ that can save souls. Some pastors may be able to manipulate people, but only God’s Spirit brings the genuine conviction of sin that leads to repentance and salvation.
For divine power to flow into and through a local body, that church must hold firmly to Scripture. What’s more, it cannot use techniques derived from worldly thinking but must rely on God’s direction.
A faith community cannot be powerful unless the people within it are individually submitted to Christ and empowered by Him. This means our commitment to Jesus affects our churches for better or for worse.
