America Prays Brings Unity to New Mexico and Beyond!

I have observed Pastor Brian Alarid and His lovely wife Mercy for several years now. (Pictured Above) I was introduced to Pastor Brian by Isaac Milleson who worked at KAZQ Ch 32 TV and was our webmaster here at FGGAM. That was over 10 years ago now. I was host of “Dewey and Friends” on KAZQ. Issac said at the time, “You got to meet my Pastor, he is so very awesome, he is on fire for Jesus.”

We sat down for lunch and I surely could tell that this man, Pastor Brian, was full of fire for our Lord. Pastor Brian and Mercy have impacted New Mexico in such a wonderful way. They have helped bring what I call “Prayer Revival” to not only New Mexico but America. Brian and Mercy have surrounded themselves with such Godly folks, Christian leaders such as Pastor Richard and Cindy Mansfield and many others.

Years ago after I took the job as Manager of KKIM Christian Radio in Albuquerque Pastor Don Kimbro, such a very wise man of God, told me one day in his office at Heights Christian, that “Prayer is everything.” Don also told me that he was praying for unity and revival in the Church in New Mexico. What Pastor Don told me that day “drove KKIM and now drives FGGAM.” Life is “one big prayer.”

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:18

For years I would pray for unity here in New Mexico of Churches, Denominations and Pastors. This has been so wonderful how NM Prays and America Prays has brought UNITY TO NEW MEXICO! When I managed KKIM in Albuquerque one of my goals was to bring Pastors from all denominations together with an on-air presence. Pastor Brian and his team have done such a remarkable work in bringing us all together for Jesus throughout the state and now the nation.

I call Pastor Brian and Richard Mansfield “energizer Pastors” for Jesus! They are role models for us all. Integrity is huge in their lives. These two are so very dedicated to serving God and His people, their wives are the same, they are all sold out for God. They are making a huge difference right here in New Mexico and America.

Their lives should challenge us all to serve God and His people in more love and more boldly…..more unity…. no walls…and more prayer. This team for God does not complain about things, they pray to God and love on people. Here is an awesome report from the Assemblies of God:

In January 2017, the state of New Mexico faced serious needs. The budget deficit approached $250 million, crime rates escalated, and one of the state’s largest employers, Intel, eliminated jobs.

Amid this crisis, pastors from across the Land of Enchantment began to pray. Brian D. Alarid, founding pastor of Passion Church in Albuquerque, spearheaded the effort. Alarid began a movement called America Prays, designed to unite local churches in around-the-clock prayer for cities and states.More Here

Sharon and I are so super blessed to have Pastors Brian, Mercy, Richard, Cindy and Don as mentors. I always say to people you must have Godly mentors, role models, when you look at them you see Jesus in their works for the Kingdom. We must all have an accountability group. The Board of Directors here at FGGAM, Pastors Bill Ruhl, Barbara Gould, Sonia Haylett and Sister Wanell Pate are all outstanding people of God, full of HIS wisdom. We also have a large group of advisers all over America who help guide us in our ministry work and everyday life, they are really are one of the same. Who your friends are, is who you become.

Our culture thinks we can do whatever we wish so long as we don’t hurt other people. The truth is that everything we do helps or hurts someone else today—and tomorrow. We influence the future, whether we see it or not.

How will people tomorrow remember your actions today?

Those are wonderful words from Dr. Denison. Nothing good happens when we speak mean things or post mean things on Facebook. When you speak or post mean things all you do is add to the hate in the world. Tell and show the world the truth of Jesus in love.

Do people see Jesus in you?

So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. Romans 14:13

When we love those who do not love us, we stand out in a way people cannot forget. – Denison

I collected some postings from Facebook of people who worked so very hard to bring hope to thousands yesterday in Albuquerque! So many people coming together to be the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. I know many people have worked so very hard to hold Convoy of Hope in Albuquerque, but I do want to thank the Lord for Pastor Brian Alarid who has led this effort from the start and the team has grown so strong in just a year! Pastor Brian and his wife Mercy have been such a super blessing to New Mexico and beyond! God Bless everyone who is on the team and God Bless those who were served yesterday, my prayer is this will bring many more hope, hope in Jesus! Amen!

Over 7,500 people were served by over 1,700 volunteers who came to show the love of Jesus. 10,000 lunches were provided, 4,500 people were prayed for, 70,000 pounds of groceries were given away, over 2,000 health screenings provided, 2,000 pairs of kids shoes and 5,000 pairs of socks were given, 1,500 job and career services guests were helped, 840 family portraits were taken.

Convoy of Hope 2019 was a huge success! Thousands were served by over 1700+ volunteers from many amazing churches in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. Thank you to everyone who served.

Thank you Brian Alarid and Jason Dickenson for a year of prayer, preparation, planning, fundraising and hard work that culminated in today. Brian, thank you for all the relationships you’ve cultivated through the years and the way you unite people to serve our city. I love your faith and leadership. Denise Raykovics you did a brilliant job coordinating this whole event! You are a treasure to us.

So many businesses, churches and government entities made this happen-it was a work of love from almost every sector in our city. It was a privilege to be a tiny part of it.

Let’s join “Golden Rule 2020”

Yesterday (Sunday) marked exactly one year before the next presidential election. In that light, a campaign that began Sunday is especially significant.

The movement is known as “Golden Rule 2020: A Call for Dignity and Respect in Politics.” Its organizer explained that the goal is “to remind Christians that our faith has something to say about how we talk to each other and that these insights are relevant to our political discussions—particularly in difficult times like these.”

The campaign is supported by a remarkable coalition, including the National Association of Evangelicals, the Episcopal Church, a department of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Presbyterian Church USA. It encourages Christians to “pray for God’s help in healing our country” and to “promote the use of the Golden Rule in political discussions and election activities throughout the 2020 campaign season.”

As a result, “there will be a focus on the practical application of the Golden Rule and how politics in 2020 could be different if Christians practice Biblical teachings about how to treat people who disagree with them.”

Let’s join Golden Rule 2020 today, to the good of our country and the glory of God.

The truest test of character

It has been said that the truest test of character is how we treat people we don’t have to treat well.

When people hurt us, our society tells us we have the right to hurt them in return. Jesus says we have the privilege of loving them by praying for them. When Christians decide that Christ is right and culture is wrong, the culture is drawn to Christ.
