Heart of Thanksgiving   By Jeanne Theriault

As we approach Thanksgiving with   family and friends getting  together celebrating the Holiday , let us remember to always have a heart of gratitude and being thankful for all that God has done for us.

It is so easy during the Holiday Season to be busy with all tasks and activities and forget to stop and reflect on why we should be celebrating.

God has set examples for all to follow. In the Word Jesus gave thanks when he fed the five thousands, he gave thanks for the five loaves and two fish, He gave thanks before the miracles, He gave thanks at the tomb of Lazarus and gave thanks to his Father.

Being thankful is a public knowledge or celebration of divine goodness having an attitude of gratitude.

Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the Lord for he is good and his love endures forever

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful

Being thankful begins when we acknowledge God as faithful, earnestly giving him thanks for his abundant blessings.

Giving thanks is  a reflection, adoration, sacrifice of praise or an offering

Psalm 118:19 Open for me the gates of righteousness , I will enter and give thanks to the Lord

Giving him  thanks with  a grateful  heart is a happy heart

Psalm 138:1-2 I will praise you Lord, O Lord with all my heart before the gods I will sing your praise, I will bow down toward your Holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness

Psalm 95:2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving

Let stop and take time to give thanks to God for all his blessing, for scriptures encourages us to give thanks and to express our heart of gratitude.

1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thank to the Lord for he is good his love endures forever
