In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5 (NKJV)
To see how Jesus was at the Beginning of life should be s a reminder to us that He knows what makes us up. It should be a reminder that He knows who we are. It should be a reminder that He can care for us, because just as those who make things know how to care for things they make, He, being Our Creator, knows how to care for us.
He brings life to us. This life is not just our physical life but also our Spiritual Life. It is filled with His Love and His Joy. It brings healing, comfort, and most importantly, Love. We have not reason to doubt that we are loved, especially by Him, because He thought we were worth dying for so we could be restored to God’s Family.
He is Our Light. The great thing about light is that it reveals all things that were in the dark. The darkness He Lights up for us is our sinful nature. This shows us where we need to turn from things that keep us separated from God. It allows us to grow in our Relationship with Him and help others to see Him.
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed That I will keep Your righteous judgments. I am afflicted very much; Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word. Accept, I pray, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, And teach me Your judgments. My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, Yet I have not strayed from Your precepts. Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, to the very end. Psalm 119:105-112 (NKJV)
With looking at Who He is, as He is introduced in the beginning of John, shouldn’t this be something that causes us to Rejoice? Shouldn’t this be a cause for us to Seek to change? Shouldn’t this be something to Help us remember there is no cause to fear?
Thank You Jesus, that You Loved us so much, to be there in the beginning of our lives through to the end. We want to thank You for revealing to us where we need to change. We ask for Your Help and Strength to make these changes in our lives. Help us to be more like You and less of who we used to be. In Your Name we pray, Amen.
