Well, I knew this day was coming, but it still makes me sad….Pastor Don is retiring! I met Pastor Don years ago at his office when he was the Preacher man at Heights Christian in Albuquerque. A man of great Godly wisdom and love. Getting to meet him and know him, has been better than any seminary school. The man has taught me so much! I really got to soak his wisdom in as we teamed together to get his radio ministry started on KKIM. Don even had a studio built in his home. Over the years Don has shared books with me to read, I soak them up! Don also has been an adviser for me and Sharon here at FGGAM! I always impress folks on how important it is to have accountability partners, mentors, Christian educators, pastors, friends, and most of all GOD in everything and a partner for life like Sharon! It makes for a CLEAN life. Not that I don’t make mistakes, but far fewer than I used to! Here is Pastor Don’s note….by the way, Don has one of the best partners, Dorothy, who is such a dear angel. Don and Dorothy make a powerful team for Jesus! Amen!
Good morning my dear brother Dewey,
Happy New Year and continued success in your dynamic ministry as a faithful servant!
This being the end of a wonderful year and the beginning of a new one, there is a stirring in the soul of this 83 year-old to seek the suggestion of the 11th century mathematician, poet and astronomer, Omar Khayyam (of all people) who said, “The thoughtful soul to solitude retires.” Is that possible in this day and age? I will attempt to find out and let you know. I propose to begin with that growing stack of wonderful books I have neglected and cease all other forms of busyness until Jesus comes to get me!
Thank you for all your encouragement over the years and opportunities to opine. You are a blessing. God’s Speed!
Pastor Don
Solitude Seeker
We sure will miss your messages here at FGGAM, Don! Love you and Dorothy so very much!
