In Mark 3:25 Jesus tells us, “If a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
Our country today is in such a state of division. Two political parties trying to convince each other that they seek only to know the truth, when the real truth is that many of them seek only for recognition and the right to lead.
Many of the people involved in the politics of our country have openly spoken of their faith and acknowledged the need for our country to return to it’s roots…the roots of faith in our one and only God, Jesus Christ. My prayer for these are that they seek not only the truth but they will humble themselves and ask for wisdom and direction from above as they decide the fate of our President and whether or not to impeach him.
I pray also that, among the ramblings of this ‘trial of errors’ our country is being forced to endure, God would open unto them “a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ.” Col. 4:3
America, to me, has always been a place of refuge as the people of other countries wish theirs could be. Psalm 91 tells us: 1 He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in Him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilience. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
I believe in the truth spoken in Psalm 50: The mighty God , even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 2 …God hath shined. 3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God is judge himself…..22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces and there be none to deliver. 23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God.
May our leaders who claim to know Him follow His truth and seek justice that all might be given the opportunity to believe. My prayer is that once this trial on Capitol Hill ends, our country can return to being ‘one nation under God.’ As He opens the door to truth, may it shine so brightly that even the naysayers cannot deny it! Amen
