A search on radiolocator.com identifies that out of 50 total stations in the Charleston area, nearly 20 play religious content. As the number of people who identify as Christian continues to decline at a rapid pace I am praying for a Christian News/Talk station in Albuquerque, that can serve the state with a full-time local news department! So very important! Christian TV needs to boost its news up with local news reporting. We as Christians should have the best news departments! Miss the days when KKIM would do live interviews from the State Capital when the Legislative session was going on! Miss those days with Nora Espinoza, Janice Arnold Jones, Bill Sharer, Glen Strock, New Mexico Watchman Jose Vasquez and many more! Our listeners would blow up the phone system at the Capital!!!
I still get people that come up to me, like at the Mens breakfast at Paradise Hills Methodist in December, saying they miss the ‘Old’ KKIM and New Mexico News and Views. Those were thew days of in-depth reporting and live reports from different area of the state. Thanks to Pastors Mark Tross, Leonard Navarre, Paul Holt, Larry Moss, Bill Ruhl, and Hall of Famer Frank Haley for all they did! Plus all our regular guests!
Christian media has got to up its game! I still do radio on 5 stations back home in Minnesota. We must teach and inform, not so much entertainment! Been doing radio since 1978, started in news at the Minnesota State News Network!

The decline in the number of those identifying with Christianity is reflected in a 2019 Pew Research Center survey, which showed 65 percent of American adults describe themselves as Christian when asked about their religion. That number has dropped 12 percentage points over the past decade.
Christians need to be informed! That is one of the reasons HE formed FGGAM
