Born Alive end infanticide
Did Your Senators Vote to Ignore Infanticide?
On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate failed to approve the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. It is a sad commentary on our nation when we must even consider such a proposal. It is an outright travesty when not enough elected officials vote to extend basic protections for the most vulnerable among us—babies who somehow miraculously survive abortions.

In the U.S. Senate, in order to avoid a filibuster, 60 senators must vote for what is called cloture on any legislation before it can advance. In other words, without 60 senators voting to agree to continue with debate, any given bill will fail.

The Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act was no different from any other legislation in this respect – without 60 votes, the bill will fail.

That is what happened on Tuesday – on a bill to stop infanticide, fewer than 60 of 100 U.S. senators voted to protect survivors of botched abortion.

It failed on a 56-41 vote, with 41 senators voting to kill it.

We want to make sure you know how your senators voted on this most basic bill because it serves as a barometer of just how far some elected officials will go to protect abortion. Failing to vote to protect abortion-injured babies makes it abundantly clear where 41 U.S. senators stand on the issue of life in general.

You can use our Action Center to find out how your senators voted. Just click here and then enter your zip code and/or address to get the information you need.

We have also made it easy for you to communicate with both of your senators about this vote. Once you find out how they voted, we have provided an option for you to “Take Action” to thank them or to ask them to reconsider their position on the Born Alive Bill. Our system will automatically generate the appropriate messages that you can simply personalize as desired.

It is important to note that three senators running for President were not even present Tuesday to vote on the matter, although they have already been outspoken in their radical support for abortion on the campaign trail. We have set up a message addressing their failure to vote as well.

Thank you for standing strong, being informed and taking action on this matter.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

I weep…….mourn……….

Matthew 18:6

But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Tellingly, CNN described a baby who survives abortion as a “fetus that was born.” As Alexandra DeSanctis notes, “Too many politicians are committed to the notion that the unborn have no rights if they are deemed unwanted.”My guess is that a pro-abortion politician whose grandchild survived abortion would feel differently about the legislation he or she just rejected.

From Pastor Don Kimbro: Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act Wording:
“If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws. Any health care practitioner present at the time the child is born alive shall . . . exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age.”

Did you know that all five members of our NM delegation oppose the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and have actively blocked its passage?

Senator Tom Udall (D) Voted “NO”
Senator Martin Heinrich (D) Voted “NO”
Representative Deb Haaland (D) Blocked Vote
Representative Xochitl Torres Small (D) Blocked Vote
Representative Ben Ray Lujan (D) Voted “NO”

Three steps to compassionate purpose

Scripture repeatedly teaches that Christians are the “body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27), change agents intended by the Spirit to make a catalytic difference in our fallen world (cf. Matthew 5:13–16). But if you’re like me, the drumbeat of bad news we hear from our 24/7 news cycle makes it hard to avoid compassion fatigue.

It’s easier to emotionally ignore the stories that don’t affect us personally. Until they do.

The key to personal engagement with the coronavirus and other issues of our culture is to make them personal. To that end, let’s consider three steps.

One: Pray for compassion. Ask God for his eyes for those in need. Ask him to help you “rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15).

Two: Serve those you can with humility and gratitude. Philippians 2 describes Jesus’ decision to take “the form of a servant” as he “humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death” (vv. 7–8). We are to serve others in the knowledge that we are debtors to grace just as they are. We are beggars helping beggars find bread.

Three: Trust God to change lives as only he can. As we work, he works. When we plant seeds of truth, his Spirit nurtures them in transforming ways.

Conversely, trying to do God’s work in our strength is a quick path to burnout. Oswald Chambers: “The reason some of us are such poor specimens of Christianity is because we have no Almighty Christ. We have Christian attributes and experiences, but there is no abandonment to Jesus Christ.” But the more we abandon to Jesus in complete reliance, the more he does the impossible through us (cf. Philippians 4:13).

“Act well your part”

God redeems all he allows. Let’s look for ways to redeem the coronavirus epidemic through compassion and service with a vibrant faith that glorifies our Lord. And let’s remember that enduring success is measured not by popular opinion but by purposeful obedience.

In “An Essay on Man,” Alexander Pope advised us: “Act well your part, there all the honor lies.”

What is “your part” today?

I have said for years and years, Vet your candidates with the Word of God! Not a campaign mailer, a tv or radio ad, Facebook post, or a 30 second news clip! It is your duty to do your research!

I am so very sad about all the money that is spent in politics. Whatever happens to all that money some of these folks raise and they never get out of the starting gate? I cannot beleive some of these folks who think they are qualified to run for office! I am so very tired of emails asking me for money and all they do is bash their opponents, how elementary! No meat and potatoes, just bashing! They want to be our leaders? There are people with questionable character traits that are connected to some of these candidates. You need to do your research and ask questions. Follow the money!

Some of these folks have no business running for office, they are in it for the wrong reasons. Vet the candidates with the Word of God!

I beleive there should be a limit to what these politicians can spend. You see my friends, America has made politics a god, some have made politicians gods. America is in trouble as too many have made everything about money and power. There is a power grab going on right now in New Mexico. A wild liberal party! My goodness!

The everyday Joe and Jane, like me and Sharon are being left behind. Can you even imagine all the folks that are making money off all the politics and all the different organizations tied to politics, the media makes billions! We could build so many homeless shelters, feed so many children with all that cash! We should be ashamed of what be have helped create. I do not think this is what God intended. We all are at fault, we helped build this monster.

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil. 2 Timothy 2:24

There needs to be more transparency in the money part of American politics and also all these lobbyists that are at our State Capital’s and in Washington D.C.

I also beleive that there needs to be more transparency on who is running these individual campaigns. You will be sadden or maybe even shocked who is behind the curtain pulling the strings.

Do your research, do not rely on a Hollywood TV commercial, or a 30 second news clip, or a campaign mailer! DIG DEEP! Its your duty!

That’s it! American politics has turned into Hollywood, a horror film! If the shoe fits wear it! Where is Will Rogers when you need him? How about Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Those recent Democrat debates on TV, are so very foolish….I do not know who would watch such horror……
