Dear Team Jesus, Thank you for coming by….we have many prayer requests. Please be in prayer constantly for all.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
Amelia asked for prayers for her father, who has sepsis, and her mother who is caring for him. There names are Mosby and Meredith and they live in NC. Mosby is not allowed into the hospital and is trying to battle this infection at home.
As Amelia put it, her father is fighting for his life and her family has had a horrific week.
I got word from Brenda Towle of Albuquerque that John Greenwood passed away Sunday. I worked for John when he was GM of WB/UPN TV in Albuquerque. John just became a grandpa. Prayer for his mom, 3 children, Grandson and all that loved him.
WB/UPN is where I met the wonderful Brenda Towle, such a gracious woman of God.
Please continue to pray for Pastor Glen Strock and family. Pastor Glen has brain cancer. Glen is the Pastor of the Pecos, NM Cowboy Church.
Pray for Lavella Hickman of Lapotre, Indiana who is facing end of life issues. Please pray for Lavella’s son Dwayne who is the main caretaker for his Mom.
We also pray against COVID-19 that has turned this world upside down. Our hearts break at the many deaths and those that are ill.
We also pray for all those that have lost their jobs during this crisis.
We pray for all the businesses that have had to close, our hearts are broken….
We pray all the people on the front lines fighting this evil COVID-19. All people serving Gods people, Doctors, Nurses, Technicians, EMT’s, Fire and Rescue, Police, Truck Drivers, Grocery store workers, U.S. Postal workers, FED EX, UPS, and the many more who are serving and working so hard.
Our daughter Gretchen started her new career last week as a Respiratory Therapist, for such a time as this. Please pray for her and all others.
This prayer was sent to me by Dr. Jim Denison….
“Prayer for a Pandemic”
To that end, I’d like to close by inviting you to share with me a prayer that a dear friend forwarded to my wife over the weekend. It is titled “Prayer for a Pandemic” by Dr. Cameron Wiggins Bellm of Seattle, Washington:
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have had to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
Let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.
Amen.
