Whoever you are, wherever you are, God knows you and God loves you. His love is perfect. God extended His unconditional, perfect love, to us through His Son Jesus Christ.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT).
Because of His love for us, Jesus came for us to “have eternal life.”
That eternal life with Him begins the moment we accept Him. That means it starts now on this side of eternity.
But you see, there’s a thief who wants to take our lives and rob us of what the Savior paid for us to have—perfect love.
Jesus said, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10 NLT).
What is Jesus’ purpose? He gives us a rich and satisfying life.
The thief deceives us when we experience loss or trauma. We may buy into lies that no one loves us. Or think “how can anyone love someone like me?”
God does! God is love!
The Lord has worked on my heart for years teaching me and showing me HIS perfect love. I have personally experienced physical and emotional abuse, rejection, and loss. Those traumas are open gateways for the enemy to plant lies and I admit I bought into those lies.
But by the grace of God, HE poured into me His perfect love. How do you receive God’s perfect love? Romans 5:5 explains it …
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (NKJV).
God’s love is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. I started the process of renewing my mind and believing what God says, not what the enemy says.
By faith and by believing, I receive this gift of perfect love. I’m not where I used to be, but I’m not where I need to be either. But a work in progress.
God’s love is perfect!
Let’s pray …
Lord, Your hope does not disappoint me. I ask You to pour Your love into my heart by the Holy Spirit today. I thank You for the Holy Spirit who comforts me and teaches me how to live in Your perfect love. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

In Appeal to the Courtroom of Heaven: Petitions for Prisoners and Prison Families I share my unexpected prison family journey testimony. I also point out how the Lord redeemed the worst-of-the-worst offenders found in the pages of the Bible and explain an effective prayer strategy I learned from this experience.
I pray my transparency and vulnerability points to the source of HOPE for those who lost hope in the midst of despair.
