I was so very excited in the Lord this morning not to report that New Mexico was at the bottom in child health care. It seems we are always at or near the bottom in anything good and at or near the top in bad things, like alcohol consumption during the pandemic. We are number three in the nation. I don’t drink, so I don’t know what booze does for you, it is a false hope, a false high. Read more below.I always tell people nothing good ever happens with booze and nothing good happens after 9pm at night. I am an old fuddy I know, up at 3am to 4am and in bed by 7pm. My live evolves in serving God, Sharon and the kids and you.

In order to determine which states offer the most cost-effective and highest-quality health care for children, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 33 key metrics. The data set ranges from share of children aged 0 to 17 in excellent or very good health to pediatricians and family doctors per capita.

Best vs. Worst

• Massachusetts has the lowest share of uninsured children aged 0 to 18, 1.30 percent, which is 8.2 times lower than in Texas, the highest at 10.60 percent.
• Hawaii has the lowest share of children aged 0 to 17 with unaffordable medical bills, 3.20 percent, which is 5.2 times lower than in Wyoming, the highest at 16.60 percent.
• The District of Columbia has the most pediatricians per 100,000 residents, 43.83, which is 19.7 times more than in South Carolina, the fewest at 2.22.
• Utah has the lowest share of obese children aged 10 to 17, 8.70 percent, which is 2.9 times lower than in Mississippi, the highest at 25.40 percent.

So many have died, so many people are sick, so many businesses closed, thousands without work, these are the facts. But my dear precious one, booze is not the answer.   New Mexico ranks 3rd in alcohol consumption during pandemic

  This is the time for all of us to come together in unity and help all those in need. I am hearing so many wonderful stories of people helping people. Folks delivering food to people in need so they do not have to leave their home, people COOKING meals and delivering them!!! This is America! This is the Body of Christ coming together!

  I have posted this many times during this pandemic, we are so very grateful for the dedication of all medical personnel. Our daughter Gretchen is a Repository Nurse here in Albuquerque! All the Doctors, Nurses, Medical technicians, EMT’s Fire and Rescue, Law Enforcement, Researchers, Truck Drivers, Postal Workers, UPS, FED EX, Pastors and so many more heroes. We are in constant prayer for all.

  I am very thankful for all the Pastors, Worship Teams, Video and Audio Technicians who are getting their Church services out to the world by Facebook, YouTube, Radio, and TV! Thank the Lord for all!

  I know widows who are home bound and they pray all day for all people.

  You see, we have so much to be thankful for as a nation. America is still at work, yes, its in a different way, but we are coming together to help each other, we are working for the betterment of all.

  One of the things I love about our Country is that we are overcomes, as God is with us. So many people do not know the history of America. It was founded by God. Our Forefathers were overcomers of evil. Go back to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WW I, WW II, the Depression…….take time to read American History and the Bible. I encourage you to read the Founders Bible, the Origin of the Dream of Freedom, by Historian David Barton.

  We are here to help you through this time. We love you, we care about you.

  Anchor to God, not man. Dig deep into His Word, His ways, His promises, you will not be swept away, He is your ROCK!

  IN OVER YOUR HEAD?

  We have heard so much talk from the president, congress, and others on government bailouts, stimulus financial plans.  We have heard that the government is coming to bailout financial institutions, businesses and even to giving away money for help to our pay checks.  Plus we have seen and heard how our government has come to the rescue of other countries.

  But, I’m here to tell you that no government will save you.  No political candidate will rescue you.  Our Bible Boost for today comes from the Old Testament, Exodus 14:13-14; “but Moses told the people , ‘don’t be afraid.  Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.”  Hear those words?  “THE LORD WILL RESCUE YOU”!

  In Exodus, there are no less than 5 times that we read where God rescued His people.  In Exodus 14 it’s from the Egyptians; Exodus 15 from thirst; Exodus16 from hunger; Exodus 17 from thirst again AND FROM THEIR ENEMIES!  WOW!  What a faith building study for us today in our own personal journeys.  We see in Exodus when Israel cried out to God, HE came to the rescue.

  I don’t know about your situation or about your life journey, but I suspect if you are like me; we all face daily “situations”.  Situations where we find ourselves “in over our heads”.  Maybe it’s a financial occurrence, a marital stalemate, or an overwhelming obstacle in a relationship, or a job situation.  Or, maybe it’s a habit that has it’s claws buried deep into our spiritual walk.  I venture to say that all of us have such situations from time to time.

  So, we ask ourselves, “does the Bible speak to such situations”?  Well, of course, it does.  Reading through our Bible Boost today we can learn a valuable lesson.  God is in the rescuing business.  We may think that outside forces, such as our government, can rescue us.  But, friends, NO GOVERNMENT is the answer.  Exodus teaches us that GOD is in the rescuing business.  When His people called out TO HIM, THE LORD RESCUED THEM!!!!  Over and over in Exodus when the Israelites called out to God for help, HE DID.

  SO, I believe God’s Word is speaking to us today.  Whatever, our situation or circumstance, don’t be afraid. Call out to God, stand still and watch THE LORD rescue you today!

  So overwhelmed was Moses was about God’s response he could not wait to tell his father-in-law, Jethro, what God had done.  Listen to Exodus 18:8, “Moses told his father-in-law everything the Lord had done to Pharaoh and Egypt on behalf of Israel.  He also told about the hardships they had experienced along the way and how the Lord had rescued his people from all their troubles.”  Hear those words?  Rescued them from ALL their troubles.  Not some...ALL! 

   So friends, are we in over our heads?  CALL OUT TO GOD.  Pray about the situation.  Get your family to pray.  Friends to pray.  Church to pray.  Then stand still and watch how God rescues!  CALL OUT TO GOD!

A supernova is defined as an extremely bright and powerful explosion of a dying, massive star at least five times the mass of our sun. A study published yesterday reports that the mass of this supernova, labeled SN2016aps, was between fifty and one hundred times greater than our sun. For a sense of scale: our sun could contain 1.3 million Earths and is about 333,000 times the mass of our planet. It contains 99.8 percent of the mass of the entire solar system. While it has burned off material that is more than 100 times the mass of the Earth, this is only about 0.05 percent of the sun’s total mass. But our sun is only 1 to 2 percent the size of the supernova now being reported. And there are estimated to be 100 billion such stars in the Milky Way galaxy, and ten trillion such galaxies in the universe. And our God made all of that. A path to triumphant courage  Nearly half the people in the US feel the coronavirus pandemic is harming their mental health. As the Washington Post notes, “If you’re scared, anxious, depressed, struggling to sleep through the night, or just on edge, you’re not alone.” While COVID-19 is now the number one cause of death per day in the US, heart disease still kills 1,773 people every day and cancer causes 1,641 deaths a day. In other words, there’s a lot to worry about. But there’s a way of dealing courageously and triumphantly with life on this broken planet, a source of strength and hope that is available to every child of God. And we celebrated it just two days ago. “Eternal life is the gift of God”  Christians around the world announced on Easter Sunday that Jesus is “risen indeed.” The grief of watching his execution and burial on Good Friday pales into the glorious sunrise of his resurrection from the grave on the third day. Now the risen Christ wants to infuse us with this same resurrection power by the Spirit who indwells all Christians (1 Corinthians 3:16). Tragically, many of us who believe in Easter Sunday live as though it is still Good Friday. Here’s one reason why. In My Utmost for His Highest, Oswald Chambers states that God wants us to make the “moral decision to be identified with Jesus in his death.” This is another way of stating Paul’s call to be “crucified with Christ” (Galatians 2:20). It means that we are to die to everything and everyone but Jesus, to ask him to be Lord of every part of our lives. As C. S. Lewis notes, nothing that has not died can be made alive again. When I do this, according to Chambers, “then the Holy Spirit invades me. He takes charge of everything, my part is to walk in the light and to obey all that he reveals.” As a result, “God puts the holiness of his Son into me, and I belong to a new order spiritually.” As Chambers explains, “Eternal life was the life which Jesus Christ exhibited on the human plane, and it is the same life, not a copy of it, which is manifested in our mortal flesh when we are born of God. Eternal life is not a gift from God, eternal life is the gift of God” (his emphasis). He adds: “Eternal Life has nothing to do with time, it is the life which Jesus lived when he was down here. The only source of life is the Lord Jesus Christ.” Locking the door on God Here we find one of Satan’s most subtle strategies. The Holy Spirit cannot empower that which is unholy. Chambers notes that he “cannot be located as a guest in a house” because “he invades everything.” However, we think we can make bargains with him, keeping part of us for us. As C. S. Lewis says, we are like taxpayers who pay our taxes but hope there will be money left over to do with as we wish. Satan is pleased with this deception, because it keeps us believing (wrongly) that we don’t need to do more business with God than is convenient for us. We think we can have rooms in our lives that are off-limits to the Spirit while serving him in the rooms that are open to him. We can go into the “church” room or the “prayer” room or the “morning devotional” room where we can meet him and serve with him, but we can then go into other rooms and lock the door behind us. But we cannot bargain with the God of the universe. He will not accommodate his holiness to our prideful rebellion any more than an oncologist would allow a malignant tumor to remain in our body. She knows that cancer anywhere can become cancer everywhere. Two transformative questions  Here’s the amazing good news: a post-Easter spiritual life is possible in which the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead physically will raise every part of us from the dead spiritually. He will cleanse every room and use every dimension of our lives for God’s glory and the world’s great good. To your Lord, the largest supernova humans have ever seen is but a tiny pinprick of light. And ten thousand millennia after the last star in this fallen universe is only a distant memory, your eternal life with your Father will have only begun. Is there a room in your house that is closed to his omniscient grace today? Is there a fear or worry you would like to put into his omnipotent hands right now?
