Have You Felt Distant From God?

God Bless you Sister Connie Keyohara for your wonderful message to us today! God Bless you and yours, much love in Jesus to you all!

Have you ever felt alone, distant from God like he doesn’t hear your prayers or you feel unnoticed?

Maybe you feel no joy, or discouraged and unhappy or possibly you feel like you’re getting no response when you pray.

We’ve all felt like that from time-to-time.

Where do we go from here?

First of all, if we don’t presently feel his presence we’re to keep seeking.

“Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

Psalm 27: 7&8

If you’re not feeling him or hearing him, you need to also examine your heart and ask yourself, am I spending enough time with God? Am I right with Him?

Sometimes, I’ve noticed if I don’t spend enough time with him in the morning and during the day, and I do other things ahead of spending time with him, then he will wake me up in the middle of the night. Like he’s missing me and wants to spend time with me.

We also alway want to make sure that we are making wise decisions, that’s where ‘examining our heart’ comes in. Sometimes sin can separate us from God and that’s when we feel distant from him.

God’s people have always been a waiting people.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock.

Psalm 40: 1&2

This Psalm of David is one of my favorites, but if you’ll notice, when he says he waited patiently for the Lord, it doesn’t say how long he waited! It could’ve been a while.

Keep in mind though, that he is there all along even when you don’t see him. Whether you’re having trouble with your finances, your kids, your marriage or health. And you keep bringing it to him, He is there!

Look! Israel’s protector does not sleep or slumber!

Psalm 121:4

He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you, assuredly not.”

Hebrews 13:5

The world doesn’t always need to see a happy, Peppy, perky Christian who’s lives are constantly perfect.

Sometimes it’s very effective when they see somebody who has been through sadness and despair and they’ve seen them come out on the other end successfully, not only physically and mentally, but spiritually as well.

And sometimes, pure and simple, he’s working on your heart. He’s refining you in the fire so that you will lack nothing when it’s all said and done.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4

Remember, The teacher is always silent during the test!

Not because he doesn’t care about us, but because he wants us to grow. The Teacher wants to see how we handle the test and how we go about solving the answers.

My prayer for you today is that you would not give up while waiting on God.

And while you’re waiting, do what waiters do, they serve!

Many Blessings,

Connie Keyohara
