The world seems to be going to hell in a hand-basket, and it seems California may be leading the way. I know a lot of things appear to be out of control, and from a human stand-point, they are! But one thing I know for sure, my God is not surprised by the headline news on this day or any other. He alone holds the future. There is nothing man can do that will separate His own from His love or His plan and purpose for the world. No one can destroy God’s world. Yes, things may get tougher, and they feel bad enough already, but He is ultimately in control. That’s what being Sovereign is all about. Nothing is going to happen that He won’t allow. However, this would be a real good time for all of us to begin, renew, or improve our relationship with Him. He desires for each of us to enjoy an intimate, personal relationship with Him. I am seeing and hearing great moves of God among the people and also the church of the LORD Jesus Christ. God is at work in this nation and throughout this world. God is working for “good” even in this enormous crisis.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:28-39)
Why not get closer to the source of peace? This Easter season of the year, won’t you allow the resurrected Christ to resurrect faith and hope within you?
In the midst of all the confusing happenings all around, won’t you “trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding,” or the understandings of anyone else or what you believe your eyes see. Pause in the turmoil of your day and pray, “LORD, show me the Truth of my situation from Your perspective, for You are the One whom I trust.”
In spite of circumstance beloved, have a great Easter. Pray On!
