Luke 22:31-32″ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brothers”. My thoughts.. Peter was already told he would deny Christ.. And that all would scatter( Matt.26:31-32), and now Satan asked to sift him.. Peter was arrogant when he swore that he would never deny Christ, even if all the rest did.. The problem.. Peters proclamation was trust.. But not trust in the Lord, but trust in his own strength.. Bottom line… Peters strength petered out pretty quickly .. You see.. Satan would attack and test Peter.. But Satan would never claim Peter .. Why, we ask? Because he had a Savior that prayed for him… Bam!! What a revelation !! Jesus’ prayers hamstrings Satan.. And in John 17:11,20… Jesus prays for us as well.. Wow!! What power!! We have no power aside from what is given us from above… We are strong one day, weak the next… Bottom line…. In Titus 2:11-12… Gods grace in those times of our life stirs up holiness,” For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self- controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age”. This is Gods proclamation of grace.. It both convicts, and comforts.. Don’t ever think you can do what ever you want because God will forgive you.. That’s not grace, that’s selfishness, or arrogance speaking.. Grace creates a resolve to do good, not a green light to do bad.. Don’t let your failures define you, let them refine u.. You are Gods personal remodeling project.. Let Gods grace seep into those crusty cracks of your life.. God will change you my friend .. In Christ you are closer to perfection than ever before.. Not perfect, but closer.. Do you know his grace? Do you trust his grace? If not…. You can… Trust God’s hold on you.. More than your hold on God.. That is all
Trust God’s Hold On You
