Are You Sure It’s 70×7 God?

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. A few days ago I had a conversation with a friend about how I forgave someone that hurt me deeply. I told my friend how I could wish this individual the best and actually desire to see them do well. I even said if I could help this individual, I would. I was feeling pretty good about how I was feeling. Maybe just a little too good.

Within an hour of this conversation, another area this individual could hurt me struck again. I began to talk to God in my rather sharp voice, inquiring how he could allow this to happen. Then I remembered…

Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. Also the parable in Matthew 18: 21-22 when Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for your forgiveness towards mankind. Father, thank you for the strength and grace to forgive once again.

Father, nothing escapes your watchful eye. Empower us today to overcome evil with good. God you gave us further instructions in Matthew 18 to bless those who persecute you. Bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but enjoy the company of the lowly. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord. On the contrary, If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Father, draw us closer today. We want to know you more. Amen.

Have a blessed day God’s beautiful people. I am sure it’s the 70×7. How about you?
