I fully believe that the purpose of the church is preach and teach the Word of God.
We are called to edify, build up, and teach people through God’s Word. It’s a mandate from the Lord to fulfill the great Commission.
It’s imperative that we tell others of Christ, because in him there is so much freedom, love and salvation.
We are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14
This job is not an easy one. In fact, its usually rejected. But you will come across people that want to know the Lord that are seeking the Lord. These people will have an open heart to receive the message of Christ.
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:18-20
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Isaiah 52:7
So what happens when the message is constantly and rudely rejected?
Recently, I found out it’s best to walk away. You’ve planted a seed and unfortunately, we don’t always see that result come to fruition.
We keep trying and keep striving to share the Good News of Christ to those that care to listen. And we pray for those that don’t.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:18
Sometimes the cross is offensive because it exposes our own spiritual shape.
And, until Christ’s return, the message of the cross will continue to be offensive.
I always pray that the Lord will send somebody else to pick up where I left off. And God always sends people my way that are interested in knowing about him.
Don’t get discouraged because the Bible does tells us that in these last days, the love of ‘many’ will grow cold. Notice the word ‘many’?
My people are destroyed they perish from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
Hosea 4:6
These are some tough times for sure. The spirit of the antichrist has arrived and is active.
Pray for those that refuse to hear the message of Christ. And leave it at the foot of the cross.
Many blessings,
