Last night, a few minutes before the debates were to begin, our lights flickered and the power went off.  It didn’t come back on till 2:50 this morning. My husband hooked his cell phone up to his laptop and we at least got to hear part of the debate, then the battery on his computer died.  I heard the rest of it through the magic of technology later this morning.

A power struggle is going on in our country right now and neither side is holding any punches.  It will be up to us to decide which of these men are most worthy of holding the highest office in our land.  I used to think our President was the most powerful person in the world and basically made all the rules we live by…boy was I wrong.  It turns out that our President is limited to whatever power the Congress and Senate allow him to exert.  He, by no means, makes all the rules.  As in the game of baseball, where wins and losses are credited to the pitcher, in politics all consequences fall on our President…and President Trump has shouldered them all.

I was raised in much simpler times, when politics was not at the front of every headline and our President, no matter his political party, was looked up to with respect and admiration.  There was a popular idea that anybody could grow up to be President…that is until Donald Trump decided to do it.  Then all of a sudden we started to hear things like: “What makes him think he can be President?  He’s never held an office before.  He knows nothing about politics.  He’ll run our country into the ground.”

Well, after a surprise victory and his first four years in office, our country is still thriving in spite of suffering a pandemic… and to the disdain of most Democrats.  Donald Trump has proven that anybody CAN be President.  Now we must cast our votes again and decide if we want this progress to continue, or do we want to turn the power of President back to the Democrats who ran it into the ground themselves…with Joe Biden as Vice President.

If we care about our economy, the sanctity of life, our freedom to worship…and all other freedoms mentioned in the Constitution, we must re-elect Donald Trump.  Never in our lifetime have we seen such hate and disrespect for the leader of our country… coming from within our country.  Some might think it best to get rid of Trump in order to get rid of the hate, but would that really be a solution?  Are we willing to sacrifice our country itself and everything America stands for just because the Democrats hate him?  Besides, it’s not Donald Trump that they hate, it’s the fact that he threatens their way of life by exposing the corruption and lies many politicians resort to in order to protect themselves and line their own pockets with our tax money.

President Trump is pro-life, which means he wants to protect the lives of unborn babies from abortion.  He believes in the freedom to worship God and even mentions God on many occasions.  If our country is to survive, we must elect people who believe that the U.S. was founded on Biblical truths and who adhere to these truths in their personal lives as well.  The hate in our country is not because Donald Trump is President, it’s because Satan, one of the powers that be, is trying every way he can to take our country down…and hate is his most powerful tool.  How better to destroy a union of any sort than by causing division and jealousy within that union?

Our laws and conscience have gotten so far away from God it is a wonder we are still standing.  Many of us who prayed for a return to God for our country feel that Donald Trump is the one chosen to lead us in making that turn.  Let us continue to pray for God’s direction as we vote on the next four years. Most important, let us not forget that whoever is elected, our true leader and the One with ALL the power is the Lord…and He will always be the one in charge.

In Matthew 28: 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them (his followers) All power is given unto me in   heaven and in earth.

Let us pray that his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

I have written countless songs, a few for which demo recordings have been made. Recently I’ve been writing blogs..most of them about my faith and things the Lord has taught me in my Christian life over the last 51 years. My inspiration comes from my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and my desire to see that my grandchildren grow up in a Christian nation. My goal is to bring glory to Him and help others to see that there is POWER in the name of JESUS!
