The Salvation Army Teams Up With Albertsons Market To “Rescue Christmas”

Community members can help neighbors in need with a donation at the register

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Oct. 27, 2020) – The Salvation Army and Albertsons Market have joined forces to provide food, clothing, shelter, and family assistance for those in need during the “Rescue Christmas” campaign at all 24 Albertsons Market locations in New Mexico through Nov. 4.

As part of the seasonal effort, in-store shoppers will be asked at the register if they would like to donate to help The Salvation Army help our community. Donors will be given a paper replica of The Salvation Army’s signature Red Shield on which they can write their name or dedicate the donation to someone else.

“Many families don’t have the means to put food on the table or pay their utilities and rent during the holiday season,” said Captain Dwaine Breazeale, The Salvation Army Albuquerque Tri-County Coordinator. “Your generous donation can ease the burden on families experiencing tough times and help meet their basic needs.”

Albertsons Market and The Salvation Army have collaborated for many years to support our most vulnerable neighbors at The Salvation Army’s signature Red Kettles at Albertsons Market storefronts throughout New Mexico. Valued community partners like Albertsons Market help The Salvation Army serve nearly 125,000 New Mexicans each year through a range of social services, helping them overcome poverty and economic hardships.
