Are You Feeding The Wrong People?
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I am not sure why this is on my mind this morning, but it is, so here it goes. It has been years now, I was preparing for a meeting I was in charge of organizing. This meeting was all christian people. We usually had food, singing and a speaker. As I prayed for the meeting, I knew God spoke to me very clearly. He said, you are feeding the wrong people.
These folks already knew Jesus and had been part of this group for many years. I thought about those words and they have never left me. Once again this morning those words were highlighted at the forefront of my mind.
During this time of crisis in our world, don’t forget to feed the people that are not christians, people that may not be part of your group. God has a redemption plan that is available to people, not just a select few. As christians, let’s reach out beyond our own comfort zones and go out in the highways and the byways and feed his people. Amen? Amen.
Let’s Pray:
Father, lead us by the power of your Holy Spirit. Father, thank you for giving us your heart for people. All the titles the world gives us, labels we wear, shouldn’t change how we treat people. You tell us all about this in Matthew 25. Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you visited me. Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you? And the King will reply, truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
Father, thank you for the opportunity to feed the people. Show us to whom we are sent today. May the church come alive in 2021. Amen.
One Sabbath, Jesus went to eat in the home of a leading Pharisee, and those in attendance were watching Him closely. Right there before Him was a man with dropsy. So Jesus asked the experts in the law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?” But they remained silent. Then Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him on his way. And He asked them, “Which of you whose son or ox falls into a pit on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?” And they were unable to answer these questions. When Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, He told them a parable: “When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit in the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been invited. Then the host who invited both of you will come and tell you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ And in humiliation, you will have to take the last place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the last place, so that your host will come and tell you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in front of everyone at the table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Then Jesus said to the man who had invited Him, “When you host a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or brothers or relatives or rich neighbors. Otherwise, they may invite you in return, and you will be repaid. But when you host a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind, and you will be blessed. Since they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” Luke 14:1-14
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear. Luke 14:24
