Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Proverbs 3:27
We love the story of the woman who broke her jar of perfume so she could pour its precious contents on Jesus. Yes, some thought it was a terrible waste, but Jesus scolded them. He told the disciples, “She has done a beautiful thing; she has anointed my body for burial.” This woman had the privilege of serving Jesus and anointing him. But here’s the thing—after Jesus died? At least three women went to the tomb to anoint him. They, too, had an expensive gift; spices to pour on his body. But… Jesus was gone. The one they loved was not in that tomb. So, let’s not miss an opportunity to bless the body of Christ today, right now, while we are in the land of the living. Proverbs 3:27 says, “Do not withhold good from…when it is in your power to act.” Can you bless someone today? You have power to act, so do it now.
