It is not only the Republicans losing Americans the Dems are to a lesser extent. Several years ago I changed my registration to INDEPENDENT, I AM AN INDEPENDENT MAN OF GOD! As a Christian radio station manager/news reporter/news director and now Pastor/news director here at FGGAM I have been lied to by members of both parties. I have seen many in the Republican party right here in New Mexico be silent when all hell broke lose at the Capitol. SHAME! Mark Twain said years ago, “The only difference between a Republican and Democrat is the spelling.” Of course now the issue that separates the parties is ABORTION. I have had my heart broken so many times by the former Republican Governor of New Mexico Susana Martinez who promised to end abortion in the state, she said that live on the air with me when she was elected for the first time. So many New Mexicans were very excited to have her in the Governors seat, but she failed miserably, so many broken promises, so many law suits…etc…she left a horrible legacy. I want to know the heart of the candidates so much, I want to know who their Pastor is, I want to see the fruit for the Kingdom of God. The key for me is to vote for who GOD shows me to. Just because someone says the are a Republican does mean they are a good person and if someone says they are a Democrat it does not mean they are a bad person. Last year here in New Mexico it took, what 6 Democrats to stand up against the Governor to defeat the most horrific abortion bill ever!!! I pray the same happens this year, as the horrible bill is up for vote again. I have learned the hard way to know who to trust and not to trust. People even lie to a Pastor.
Right now many politicians in this country are acting crazier than a bed bug!
I have said for years that America needs a strong third party! I supported Ross Perot when he ran! How about the JESUS PARTY!

One thing that I am thankful for is for people who ‘make me think.’ We live in a world full of hate, violence, such quick reactions of hate on Twitter, Facebook and in person, or on the phone…etc… How about the people in your life who make you STOP AND THINK Instead of reacting emotionally, take time to react in a logical way, a Biblical way. My wife Sharon has had that effect on me for sure. We talk a lot about all things. She helps guide me through this land mine of hate in America coming from all directions. I cover the news at
FGGAM.ORG 7 days a week, up ay 4am and when I start reporting the news, its like reporting on a war right now! I have to stay very close to God so that I do not say or type anything stupid, I recall the many things Sharon has taught me. Many Americans are reacting to the situation we all live in, in such a hateful, irrational way, even Christians. I watched the news conference of the newly appointed Secretary of State yesterday and many of the comments during his presentation were very, very hateful on the video I was watching. They were really dumb comments and very harmful. It seems we have had such a dumbing down of America going on for years, as I have reported many times. I will PS this: ..I will never understand people that post hatful stuff on Facebook….what is that going to change in the world? It is not going to change anyone’s opinion. It’s like preaching to your own little group. Hate destroys. The problem with MUCH of the American Church is that it preaches to the choir and has not carried out The Great Commission.
I have started to take people off my page because all they do is post hate and false news. I will not retreat from this platform because we are a ministry and we will continue to reach people all over God’s green earth for God’s Glory Alone. I get such encouraging notes from people almost everyday, those notes help make keep going. We are here to report news and inspiration from a Biblical Worldview not a Political Worldview. Most Dems and Republicans are behaving badly. I’m praying for a JESUS PARTY! AMEN!

A repairman came to our house the other day, a very loving, soft spoken man of God and said to me right off the bat, “We are losing aren’t we.” It was not a question it was a statement that the Church is losing America. I told him sad, but true, because the Church has not carried out the Great Commission, which is a command from our Lord, not a suggestion. The Church fell in love with preaching to the choir and replaced the salt with the candy dish.

One Sunday a man approached me between services to share his story. He had been addicted to drugs and was leading a hopeless life when he heard a Scripture verse in a sermon. He said that one passage led him to place his trust in Jesus Christ.
We all have a story. Oftentimes the more we surrender to God, the more we see His hand in our life. And the more we watch Him work, the more we want to share with others what He has done.
The same was true of the disciples, who gathered around Jesus before His ascension. They heard His command to spread the gospel, make disciples, and baptize people from all nations. Surely this seemed like an overwhelming task for a handful of followers, but they obeyed. Their personal experiences with Christ undoubtedly motivated them to share the good news, and they also must have gained confidence from Jesus’ promise of His presence and power.
Are you passionately telling others about Christ? One of our highest callings is to tell others about Him. As was true for the early Christians, our own experience with the Savior is the most exciting and convincing story to tell.

I love Abby Johnson….a couple of years ago when I was driving to up near Las Vegas, New Mexico to officiate at a wedding and I heard Abbey interviewed on Focus on the Family. The statement that she made that sticks with me to this day was, “It was not the hate that got me over to the Pro-Life movement, it was the love that was shown by the people at the Pro-Life clinic.” I LOVE HER PASSION FOR GOD’S BABIES! I’ve written at least a half-dozen columns since the start of the pandemic in Minnesota, over 10 months ago, that never saw the printed page.
It’s diatribes that I’m not necessarily proud of, but when you’re life’s work is writing, sometimes the best way to get out feelings that you don’t want anyone to hear or see is by writing them down – in a file all your own. That they never find their way into the newspaper, much less social media, doesn’t matter. It’s my way of venting.
I was venting, again, last week, except this time, my thoughts are seeing the light of day.
I think they need to.
I hear and read my good friend Dewey Moede say and write, “So much ________.” Lately, that blank has been filled with the word “hatred.”
Ashamedly, I see it from the very people who are supposed to be the people we look to for help, guidance, direction – our government leaders on both sides of the aisle. If you try convicting them of the hatred they spew about their co-horts – and, yes, they are co-horts – they will counter otherwise. “I have good friends who are Democrats/Republicans. I don’t hate them. This is politics.”
No, it’s purely and simply hatred. If it were anything else, they wouldn’t be saying the things they’re saying in front of a camera.
And what has it accomplished?
Many will say I’m simply too naive to think that it ever has been anything but this way for 200-plus years. I beg to differ.
I honestly don’t believe it has ever gotten to this point. There was at least a modicum of respect shown for one another even 50 or 60 years ago. Not any more.
There was a time when I would be angry about the actions of our leaders, but those days have transgressed into depression, mostly because I don’t see any way our government or our future will change. I believe we will be mired in governmental hatred forever.
It’s bad enough when I see it at the federal level, but it’s even worse when I see it coming from our state leaders. In their first meeting of the new Legislative session, leaders of the state House and Senate, together with the governor began lashing out at one another and they were only 20 minutes into their meeting.
As I said, I’m no longer angry, I’m depressed – for the future of our state and country.
This isn’t politics that these people are playing. They are playing with hatred – pure unadulterated hatred.
Truth be told, if they have hatred for one another, what love do they have for the people they serve? None, because as long as they continue to show hatred toward one another, they won’t be getting anything done for the people of this state, or – in the case of the federal government – the people of this country.
We all know where this hatred originates – Satan, of course. And he must be loving it. He must look at us and say, “I’ve got them right where I need them – bickering among themselves, actually lashing out against – killing (in the case of the attack on the nation’s Capitol) – each other. Ha, they’re not the United States of America. They are the Divided States of America. Look at this world power now.”
And he would be correct.
We’re in the middle of a worldwide pandemic that has led to the deaths of 400,000 people in the U.S. alone, and has put many in dire economic situations. When we need to look to our nation’s leaders for direction, we only see them backbiting, arguing, hating one another.
This pandemic is the worst situation our nation has dealt with in a century and the only thing our leaders can do is make it worse. If they can’t come together now to do something for the American public, they never will.
I’ve battled the doldrums of this pandemic, but I always have seemed to bounce back. There’s even light at the end of the tunnel with several new vaccines being administered that is attacking COVID-19.
There’s hope.
Sadly, I honestly don’t believe there’s an iota of hope for our country. We live in arguably the greatest country on earth. We have freedoms that many countries don’t enjoy. We have the opportunity to chase our dreams, if we so desire.
Yet, we would rather cave to Satan’s wants and hate one another, than follow Jesus and “love your neighbor as yourself.”
It’s obvious that there are two things evident inside of our state and federal governments – Satan has come to roost and there are no neighbors.
Indeed, our position as a world power is over. We are, with Satan’s direction, destroying ourselves from within. |
