We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5
The way you wake up in the morning always sets the tone for the day. Even on days when your waking thoughts may turn sour and grouchy, you have an extraordinary opportunity to change your outlook. You can, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “Take every thought captive” before you even get out of bed. It’s why I love these words by Paul David Tripp, “Every day, we are either preaching to ourselves a Gospel that produces fear and timidity, or one that propels us with courage and hope. We are either looking to a God who is distant, passive and uncaring, or a God who is near, compassionate and active.” Tomorrow morning—or today, if it’s not too late—start off your fresh 24-hour gift from God on the right foot. Preach to yourself courage and hope, confidence and trust in God. It’s a great way to start the day.
