So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

My sister and I once took a road trip to the Grand Canyon, and when we arrived, I immediately wheeled up the winding path to the edge. I sat motionless, looking out, breathless. The scene was magnetic, and I felt as though the canyon might swallow me up, had I not been belted into my wheelchair. Right there a song welled within me: “Amazing Grace.” When I got to that line, “grace that saved a wretch like me,” I belted it out as loudly as I could, all the time thinking, “Oh, Jesus, how is it that you the great Lord and creator of this stunning beauty how is it you would choose to rescue a sinner like me?” It was an appropriate response to the Grand Canyon. The majesty of God’s creation should inspire a majestic response. So, whenever you apprehend the glory of God in nature, if such a scene leaves you breathless, be utterly amazed by his grace and tell him so.
