Planned Parenthood just released a report that is absolutely shocking. They announced a record 354,871 abortions committed in the last year. At the same time, the abortion giant took another $618 million in tax-payer funding—a record high.*

Over the past almost five decades in America, the most dangerous place for a human being to be has been in their mother’s womb—when it should be the safest. That’s right—since the passing of the most egregious Supreme Court decision in our nation’s history (Roe v. Wade), sixty million babies have been aborted in our nation. That amounts to 18% of our current population. Abortion is the most serious tragedy in our country’s past and the silence that has come from the church is deafening.

So what can we do to make a difference? The first thing is to recognize that ungodly people pass ungodly laws. In our state of New Mexico, a horrendous abortion bill was just passed by the votes of 40 House representatives and 25 Senators, and signed by a like-minded Governor. Those 66 men and women will all come up for election and they all can and must be defeated. Until that happens you can make an immediate difference by getting involved with national and local pro-life ministries that are standing up against these purveyors of the legalized murder of unborn children.

We can help sanctity of life organizations by joining in their efforts with our time, prayers, encouragement and financial support. Students For Life of America. Located on multiple college campuses all across America, SFLA’s vision and mission is to abolish abortion. They exist to recruit, train, and mobilize the Pro-Life Generation of young people to reach their peers with hope, love, encouragement and resources. Students for Life reaches young people during the crucial developmental years of middle school, high school, and college, inviting them to join their friends and belong to a movement that respects human life and stands up for those who don’t have a voice and for those in crisis. Their success has been phenomenal.

Care Net Pregnancy Centers. There are over 1,100 Care Net pregnancy centers across the U.S. that provide a safe place for women and their families to explore their options related to pregnancy and their future. Their mission is to be the most trusted faith-based provider of confidential, loving support and free services, including limited medical care that includes ultra sounds. Women facing an unplanned pregnancy, looking for pregnancy help or pregnancy counseling, have questions or would like to talk with a counselor, can visit a Care Net Pregnancy Center in or near most cities across America. We have an outstanding one in Albuquerque and surrounding area.

Susan B. Anthony List. SBA-List is a nationwide network of more than 900,000 Americans. They combine politics with policy, investing heavily in voter education to ensure that pro-life Americans know where their lawmakers stand on protecting the unborn, and in issue advocacy, advancing pro-life laws through direct lobbying and grassroots campaigns.

Pro-Life Witness. Bud and Tara Shaver are Pro-Life Missionaries serving in Albuquerque, NM. Commissioned by Operation Rescue to Albuquerque in 2010, they are implementing several proven strategies, in an effort to make New Mexico, “Abortion Free.” They have redefined the American mission field and their Pro-Life efforts have been featured in virtually every major news source in the country. Bud and Tara strive to keep Christ at the center of their efforts. They are a great resource for the “how to” for your community.
