SANTA FE – This week, the Senate Republican Caucus sent a letter to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham asking her to rework the restrictions and calculation for the COVID-19 “Red to Green Framework.” The letter came in response to the most recent framework update in which one county was downgraded from yellow to red, and four counties fell short of the yellow level by 0.33 percent or less.
“New Mexico restaurants and small businesses are facing so many challenges and the current framework has unfortunately added some uncertainty with no pathway to full reopening,” said Senator Cliff Pirtle (District 32-Chaves, Eddy, and Otero). “At the highest level – the green level – the maximum capacity for most businesses is capped at 50 percent. We need a framework that offers more hope and progress than 50 percent closed.”
In the letter, Senate Republicans asked the Governor to make the following revisions to the framework:
· Replace the Red Level Restrictions with the Yellow Level Restrictions.
· Replace the Yellow Level Restrictions with the Green Level Restrictions.
· Revise the Green Level to reflect full reopening without restrictions.
· Round down test positivity rates to the nearest whole number.
· Provide a grace period for any restaurant in a county downgraded from one level to a lower level.
“Our total cases and hospitalizations are down significantly and we are no longer seeing drastic spikes in states that have reopened,” added Republican Leader, Senator Greg Baca (District 29-Bernalillo and Valencia). “These reasonable changes will offer some greater confidence to our restaurants and other businesses, and send a clear message that our state is on the road to reopening. We hope the Governor and health officials will seriously consider our recommendations.”
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2
This is insult to injury…………
My goodness…..where is common sense???? The Governor has not practiced common courtesy to the people of New Mexico who are suffering so very much! This is really a slap in the face to all New Mexicans. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham enjoys fancy dancy while many go hungry in the state!!!??? In this state where we abort babies, where children go hungry…..where many have lost their businesses, lost their jobs???!!!! Where children cannot socialize???!!! Can’t go to school!!!??? This is like New Mexico is ruled by a Queen instead of a Governor, most of us are peasants I guess.
I am sorry for my strong feelings but I care for all, I care for the babies that get aborted, I care for the children in New Mexico who only get one meal a day, I care about all the homeless people in New Mexico….I cannot and will not accept the behavior of our Governor!
Governor, please apologize to the people of New Mexico and stop all the booze! Why all the booze? Reminds me of all the booze at former Governor Susana Martinez’s ‘world famous party.’
Thanks to KOB TV’s Chris Ramirez for brining this all to light!
I got this email today…….I need to post it because its very important:
Hi there —
Wagyu beef, tuna steaks and Crown Royal all on the taxpayer’s dime.
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is racking up quite the grocery bill, $6,000 to be exact, over just 6 months according KOB4, all while closing some grocery stores to the public.
Never mind that NM’s unemployment rate just skyrocketed to 8.2%, one in three New Mexico children and one in five adults face food insecurity, and New Mexico’s food banks are struggling to keep up with the overwhelming need.
You shouldn’t be surprised that Grisham enjoys the high life — remember she went on a jewelry shopping spree after ordering the closure of all non-essential businesses.
“New Mexico families are struggling, but Michelle Lujan Grisham is living large on the taxpayer’s dime,” said RGA Spokesman Will Reinert. “If hardworking New Mexicans can’t trust Governor Lujan Grisham to spend their taxpayer money wisely, how can they trust her to lead their state out of an unprecedented economic crisis caused by the pandemic?”
