Sex trafficking bill gets a do-pass in first committee
Santa Fe, NM- State Representative Ryan Lane (R-Aztec) moved forward legislation designed to protect victims of sex trafficking. House Bill 161, would provide protection for victims of sex trafficking allowing them to provide a defense for themselves against charges for sex trafficking in which they themselves were victims as well.
“Sex trafficking is a problem in New Mexico, and if we can change the law to further help protect victims of trafficking, then we should move forward with this bill,” said Representative Ryan Lane (Aztec).
