Society is constantly encouraging women to be strong, but the world’s concept of strength actually enfeebles women. The world will tell a woman to dress provocatively, speak alluringly, act sexily and that way she can beguile and entrap men and thus gain power over them. Or society will tell women to exercise force and assertiveness or skillfully weave their way into positions of power or influence. This, they say, shows strength. But Proverbs 31:25 describes the ideal woman this way: “Strength and dignity are her clothing.” In other words, clothe yourself with Christ. Put on Jesus, and you will gain an inner strength of soul that wins others to the Savior’s side in a persuasive and powerful way a way that’s righteous and is pleasing to the Lord Jesus. Such a woman simply cannot be resisted. So today, put on Christ.
