“The audacity is breathtaking, and the threat to America’s first liberty is all too real.” That’s how Dr. Al Mohler describes the controversial Equality Act in an article for Public Discourse. Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, is among the many Christian leaders warning that passage of the legislation will spell disaster for religious freedom in America.
Pastor Don Kimbro of Albuquerque is one of the most intelligent people I have met in my life. I call it “Biblically intelligent.” I pray for more Pastors like Don. I am so super blessed to have so many Pastor friends who are so very Biblically sound! What I really love about Don is that he speaks up about today’s challenges, he is not afraid to SPEALK UP FOR GOD! Way too many Pastors stay silent as Satan roars across our Country! Those that are silent will have to answer to the LORD.
What is your Pastor saying about this?
“A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.” — Dr Martin Luther King Jr
I got this email from Pastor Don on the Equity Act, Preachers gotta speak up!
Hello brother Dewey,
Here is a link to a very well written synopsis of HR 5, the misnamed, “Equity Act,” that is now before the US Senate. As you will see it is done by Liberty Counsel, a national law group that informs and defends religious issues, free speech, churches, etc. There is also a two-page PDF summary listed that you can find on the page to print out in more detail. This is just one of the “hot button” issues under the Biden Admin, but this one will affect the church as no other piece of legislation. Every church and Christian organization will be severely challenged if it passes. I don’t hear the churches talking about it at all. You will be amazed as to what is in the bill. Perhaps a good subject to discuss with you. Certainly one for prayer. Love you brother.
A group of nearly 60 urban Christian leaders is urging the U.S. Senate to reject the Equality Act recently passed by the House of Representatives and instead opt for a compromise bill that protects the rights of the LGBT community while also preserving the rights of religious believers and institutions.
