America long ago had a near holy respect for the God she sang would bless her. However, somewhere along the way she has developed amnesia. She has forgotten the little that she really thought she knew about God.
The nation that became a protective home for most all the religions of the world forgot to protect her churches of God. The sadder part, the churches which were named for God has all but forgotten God’s Name.
GOD IS JEHOVAH!
The name of the Sovereign, Absolute, Supreme, being—“I AM WHO I AM”—only belongs to Jehovah God.
13 “Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?
14 “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” 15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’” (Exodus 3:13-15)
When Moses told Pharaoh that “I AM” sent him to demand, “Let My people go”, Pharaoh refused to acknowledge God. In essence, Pharaoh was saying, “I am who I am, and I will not yield to another.” Pharaoh was saying that he was equal to all other gods, and he would not bow down, become subservient to any other god.
Beloved, when “I AM” to do or not do, or to be or not be anything, and we disobey Him, we are saying to Him . . . “I am who I am, and I will not yield to any other!”
The church in America has slowly set aside the true and deepest meaning attached to the name of our Biblical God. The church has slipped into the role of a Christian corporation conducting corporate Christian activities rather than Worshiping and honoring the name of the Most High God by abiding in a deep, personal, intimate relationship and fulfilling the Great Commission by all her members.
The casualness of today’s Gospel has lessened God’s sense of holiness and stature over all others, in our minds and displayed by our optional obedience to the One True God.
Our only proper response to ‘I AM’, the LORD our God, is to fall down in fear and awe of the One Who possesses all authority. Church, American society is quickly losing all respect for our weaken Gospel, mainly because we have become too casual in our personal and corporate Worship of our Mighty God. If we have little respect for Him, it is no wonder they have little respect for the Church.
It is way past time for the true Church of the LORD Jesus Christ to awaken; to be revived!
