This past week I spoke to the Los Alamos Federated Republican Women. In my preparation of my message I reached out to my dear friend, former New Mexico Congressman and now Pastor Bill Redmond, (pictured at top). William T. Redmond. God does not make them any better than Bill. The people of New Mexico are so super blessed to have Bill live here! I have tried to get him to run for Governor in the past several years! Just one more note please…I thank the LORD for all our mentors who help me and Sharon march on for JESUS. We have so many very dear friends to help us with FGGAM. So blessed to have so many Christian Saints around us!
God wanted me to share Bill’s thoughts with you all! What a blessing:
“Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature…”
“If the next centennial does not find us a great nation…it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.”
Pastor and President
James A. Garfied
James Garfield is the only pastor to become president of the United States, he was a Republican. This quote is addressed especially to Christians.
The Declaration of Independence is the founding document of the American nation, not the Constitution.
The Constitution is the founding of American government.
The most important word of the most important document of America’s founding is not life, liberty or pursuit of happiness. The most important word is Creator. God, the biblical God, was the founding idea of America.
It’s difficult to pursue happiness if one is not free, it’s impossible to be free if one is not alive. The most important right for all humans is the right to life.
Rights come from God not the government. The human cannot be separated from from the rights that come from God.
Matthew 28:19-20 “All authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus.” This includes authority “on loan” to earthly ruler rulers.
Christians must be bold in our day stating clearly and emphatically that human rights come from God not the government.
