Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, “Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.”
John 7:38
If I want to keep my quadriplegic body in good health, it requires I drink water every morning, afternoon and evening. I cannot take shortcuts and drink the required ounces all at once, let’s say, in the morning. No, the cells in my body require constant flushing. And it’s the same when you drink in the Word of God. Your Spirit needs continuous renewing and refreshing. Just as buckets leak, gas tanks get empty, flowers dry out, and bird baths evaporate, your spirit withers quicker than you can think. When Jesus said in John 7, “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink,” he knew we would all need constant strength-giving refreshment for our souls. Just like buckets, you and I leak. So throughout this day, make sure to flush and refresh your spirit with frequent drinks from the Fountain of Life.
