We are so super blessed by this message from Hannah Kohnen of National Day of Prayer!
Friend —
“But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I commanded you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you’” Jeremiah 1:7-8
Wow! God is GOOD! It has been such a joy to process what God spoke to me and taught me, and to hear the incredible things He has done and is doing across America. God is on the MOVE!!!
We NEED each other.
We need what God has given you, equipped you for, and called you to! You are a vital part of His Kingdom. Whether you are in school, working, a stay a home mom, or retired, you are a called to something. Each season may look different, but you are called to walk in simple obedience, no matter how big or small, because you never know what God will do in and through you!
The National Day of Prayer was the first opportunity for our staff to meet each other in person. We are all gifted differently, but we needed each other’s gifts. What a beautiful thing to watch each of us walking in our roles and relying on one another! There is so much peace, joy, and excitement when you walk in the giftings and calling God has in your life.
The time is NOW!
We are here for such a time as this! You are not too young or too old to walk in what God has called you to. Just like Jeremiah, I too have struggled in this season of feeling too young, unequipped, and scared to walk through the doors that God has opened. But God showed me Jeremiah and reminded me that I am not alone, and He who is greater lives in me. It’s not anything I can do or say, not a degree I may have or not have, a certain age I must reach, a relationship status, career, etc. God has called us NOW and He is faithful and will provide.
God may be putting some pretty big dreams and goals on your heart or has called you to something that may feel out of your comfort zone. You are not walking into it alone. “For He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23)
What is God calling you to in this season? What is one step you can take today to walk in your Kingdom purpose?
Let’s take a moment to thank God and pray!
Lord, we thank you that You have created each of us with such intention and purpose. God, we ask even in this week that You would give us simple things we can walk in. Remind us of our identity and firm foundation in You. We are nothing without You, thank you for choosing to partner with us, equip us and use us to proclaim Your name. Activate each of our hearts to walk in the incredible call You have on our lives. In Your mighty name we pray Amen!
Hannah Kohnen serves as the prayer and events support intern. About the National Day of Prayer
The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
