A Changed Life

John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

This has been my prayer since I met and believed Jesus. I told Him, “I don’t care if anyone remembers me, but that they remember You in me and the special words You gave them that spoke to their hearts.”

When I was five, I was the boy babysitter’s special girl. I’m not going to expound upon that, but it wasn’t good.

That abuse tripped a switch and broke something in me. I wanted love and along my life path I made many bad choices looking for love. My view of love was warped.

Then I met my Jesus and still made bad choices. I didn’t understand why I did what I did so I asked Him, and that’s when He showed me what I had buried away in my five year old self. It was at that point that I was able to really know Him and to believe He really, really loved me totally and completely. It was also at that point that I let Him love me and He began to show me what real love is.

Romans 12:1-2 I urge you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.”

The Greek word, perichoresis, means: mutual indwelling without loss of personal identity, flowing out of. You and He are one beautiful vessel. As you allow Him to love you and spend time getting to know Him, you will begin to transform by the renewing of your mind and begin to see as He sees. Jesus laid down His life for us so that we could be one with Him.

Colossians 1:19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him.

Colossians 2:9-10 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is head over all rule and authority.

Colossians 1:27 To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:29 And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

He’ll help if you ask Him. I used to think I was helpless against all the stuff coming at me and the garbage people would dump into my head by reminding me who I used to be, but if the above scriptures are true, which they are, I am not helpless, but empowered by Jesus in me to help me. It’s His power and His faith dwelling in me. I know and believe that now.

In Luke 18:41, Jesus asked a man what he wanted Him to do for him. The man said, “Lord, I want to regain my sight!” I agree! I want to see, Lord. I want to see Your reality. Do we agree with Him that we died with Him, we’re raised with Him and are now complete in Him? How’s it look? I reckon that depends on who you ask. I recommend you ask Him.

Paul is a beautiful example of a transformed person. People were afraid of him at first because of who he used to be, but then, when they realized Christ in him, they began to glorify God because of him. Paul was still Paul, but Christ lived in and worked through him.

I was looking at a chrysalis the other day and said, “Lord, that is a perfect example of You in us.”

The chrysalis represents when we meet Jesus. We’re the hard outer shell. When we begin to allow Him to love us and get to know Him, thinking and seeing as He does, we are transformed into the perfect image of Him and us. (Remember perchoresis.)

2 Corinthians 1:9-10 encourages us to rely on God. He will never, ever let us down.

2 Corinthians 4:7,10 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our body.

It’s God’s mighty energy that raised us with Jesus and gave us His life in us. It’s not a new you, but Him living through you, with you. It’s Jesus in us living through and with us. Perichoresis <3

Philippians 2:13 For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Abba, thank You for Jesus. Thank You for making a way for us to be one with you. Thank You for completing us. Lord, help us to see as You do, and hear You very clearly as we draw near to You and get to know You more every day. Show us who You want to touch and give us Your words for their heart. Help us to know that there is no separation between us and to realize that it is Your power working in us to others. Help us to overcome any natural tendencies like shyness, and to walk where you do, unhindered by our fears. We love You and we praise You forever more. Amen and so be it.
