PRAY OVER THIS

“…that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”

PONDER THIS

Jesus took humanity and became like we are that we might become like He is. He took the very nature of man that we might take the nature of God, and so we have fellowship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. As lowly as we are, we can walk and talk and fellowship with Him and can sing, “I come to the garden alone, when the dew is still on the roses and the voice I hear, falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses, and He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own.” That’s the fellowship we have with Him because of the incarnation, and that’s the reason John said, in effect, “Look, He’s a man, we saw Him, we touched Him, we hurt Him.” He took the nature of man that we might take the nature of God.

  • How often do you reflect on the fact that Jesus took on human flesh so that you could have fellowship with God?
  • How have you taken advantage of this divine privilege? In what ways have you neglected to do so?

PRACTICE THIS

Take time today for a walk or a period of reflection to recognize the fellowship you have with God and to talk with Him in that fellowship.

The truth is, we’ll never have authority over the things God has put us over until we submit to the authority God has placed us under: Jesus. Gaining kingdom authority begins with a decision to surrender our will to Jesus Christ. Read more.
