LORD . . . the Ukraine

Precious Almighty God, our Warrior King and Defender of the helpless, we come to You on behalf of the Ukrainian citizens who desire nothing but peace and well-being.   It appears that the big bear of the North is coming down with non-peaceful motives.   Russian invasion in the Ukraine places innocent people at grave risk.  LORD, awaken Your global Church to come together to war on her knees for this part of the world and its potential far reaching effects.

Father, may Your peace and reconciliation overcome all hatred, tension, and hostilities.   You make wars cease to the ends of the earth.   You break the bow and shatter the spear; You burn the shields with fire.    You have said, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”   May Your radiant glory be known and experienced in the areas of the world that deny You and trouble all others.

Dear Jesus, draw Your Church to arise as heralds of hope during the midst of crisis.    God, may You open doors for Your Gospel message to be proclaimed to the nations in crisis.   I pray that Your children may proclaim it clearly, as they should.

Father, I request wisdom for the Ukrainian government leaders and military chiefs, as Your Word directs in 1 Timothy 2:1-2; “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

I pray for the safety and needs for all persons being dislodged.    We know and trust that our God will meet all their needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.

LORD, we know that You surely have missionaries in place in the nation of Ukraine, we pray for strength and shelter for those who actively work to share Your Gospel.

I also pray for calm and steadiness for all the Ukrainian children and young adults.  They must be overwhelmed with fear, and confusion.  May each one find peace and hope in Jesus’ name, Amen!
