PRAY OVER THIS
“Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.”
PONDER THIS
Where did Peter get confidence in the message he preached? Some may have asked, “Are you sure you’re not hallucinating? Peter, are you sure He wasn’t a ghost?” Peter would have likely replied, “A ghost!? We ate and drank with Him. We touched Him.”
Many have questioned if this was all a lie. Men may live for a lie, but no man will willingly die for a lie. People tell lies to get out of trouble, not to get into trouble. These people, with no hope of personal gain, knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus was alive, and they were convinced of His virtuous life. They were convinced of His vicarious death. They were convinced of His victorious resurrection.
- What gives you confidence in sharing Jesus with others? How have you experienced Him personally?
- What are some things that cause you to question the message about Jesus? How might you submit these things before God?
PRACTICE THIS
Make a list of things that give you confidence in Jesus and things that make you hesitant to share about Him with others. Ask God to give you further confidence in the true and evidenced message of the Gospel.
