Rick Carson Wrisley
I was reading about Spiritual gifts. I’ve always thanked God for blessing me with a sense of humor. It enabled me to have a successful 35 year career in radio broadcasting and my sense of humor has always been family friendly. I never said anything on the air that I wouldn’t want my children to hear. Shame on Howard Stern. But I was wondering if a sense of humor could be a Spiritual gift. In my retirement I deliver RV’S., vans and box trucks around the country. I come in contact with many people and I find myself instinctively trying to put a smile on people’s faces. When I leave a motel the front desk clerk always asks “are you checking out?” To which I always reply “never ask an old man if he’s checking out!”. It always gets a laugh. After I deliver a vehicle I go to the Airport and get a rental car. The Uber driver always asks which airline and I respond the rental car area. I always explain that I’m not afraid of flying, I’m afraid of crashing. So I guess a sense of humor probably can’t be considered a Spiritual gift but I try to treat it as one. I’ve found that saying something that makes a person smile or laugh opens a door that allows me to share Jesus Christ in a meaningful way. Thank you Jesus for all of the blessings you given me in my life.
FGGAM Shares a Biblical Worldview Everyday:
“The Biblical worldview says there is a God—One who is personal, powerful and caring—who created the world and everything in it. It states unequivocally that man is created in God’s image, living in essence as God’s co-regent over creation. Mankind—born and unborn, rich and poor, able and disabled—has intrinsic worth. Almighty God is a sovereign God, ruler over nations, states, empires, and governments. He is to be worshiped and obeyed through the precepts and principles revealed in His infallible Word. He not only exists, but He is sovereign over all of history according to His wisdom and purposes, and He is intimately involved in every aspect of life.”
