Your mother is like a vine in your vineyard, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
Ezekiel 19:10
Mothers are a gift to us because they show us what God’s love is like.
In a loving momma, we’ll see Christ. We will see someone who works long hours, who gathers her children like a mother hen, who protects her cubs like a mother bear.
Mothers help develop our personalities, and shape our attitudes. They have the ability to say “I love you”, with such an outpouring of Gods love.
Besides the physical care of our children, we are to care for the souls of our children as well. We not only nurture physically, but also spiritually. That’s quite an important job, one we should take very serious.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
Psalm 128:3
Mother’s nurture their children, pray for their children and teach their children to follow and trust in God. You can’t necessarily control what they do as adults, but you can help steer them in the right direction, towards God.
“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”
Proverbs 31:26
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs 31:28-31
Proverbs 1:8-9: “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.”
“Never underestimate the power of a praying mother, interceding on behalf of her children!”
Happy Mother’s Day to all you Momma’s!
Many blessings,
Connie
